Tennis Open 500

MTV Winter

Music fans flock to Valencia in February to attend the much anticipated MTV Winter Festival. Held at the City of Arts and Sciences, this free and open air concert headlines a star studded line up of international artists.

Las Fallas

Valencia is famed for its annual Las Fallas (The Fires) festival which is one of the world’s greatest displays of fire and explosions. Lasting a week, the streets of the city are set ablaze with vibrant parades, fireworks and high spirited celebrations. The riotous fiesta culminates in the spectacular burning of giant Disney like characters.

April brings the annual Festival of Media, an established event in the global communications and advertising calendar. The event holds a two day long conference, an exhibition of new media opportunities and an international award ceremony.

Global Champions Tour

The Global Champions Tour is one of Spain’s leading equestrian events. Held at the City of Arts and Sciences, events feature some of the world’s top riders and around 160 competition horses.

Formula One Grand Prix

June brings the glamour of the Formula One Grand Prix to the streets of Valencia. Lasting three exciting days, thousands of spectators line the streets to watch the competition unfold.

La Batalla de Flores

La Batalla de Flores marks the end of Valencia’s Feria de Julio, a month of concerts, funfairs and fireworks. The popular event features a vibrant parade of floral floats and culminates in a mass flower battle between the city’s residents.

La Tomatina

La Tomatina is a food fight festival held each August in the town of Bunol, 40km west of Valencia. The mess and mayhem takes place in the town’s main square where thousands of participants pelt each other with 100 tonnes of ripe tomatoes.

La Muixeranga

September brings The Feast of Virgen de la Salud or Virgin of Good Health to the Valencian town of Algemesí. Festival highlights include sampling fine foods and wines and watching spectacular performances by talented acrobats.

Valencia National Day

October 9th is the national day of Valencia and also San Donis, a day similar to Valentine’s when romance is celebrated. Visitors can enjoy historic parades, performances and taste marzipan treats traditionally given to loved ones.
